Indian people are very ritualistic and used to have faith in gods. So, before starting anything they offer puja in the name of gods. As they believe in spiritual things and thus want everything to start in a positive way. Most people have this belief that there are spirits which are considered to be evil and can create wreck and havoc to the property and life. So to avoid this, people offer Grah Pravesh Puja to avoid such kind of things to happen in their area. The main motto of conducting this grah pravesh is to purify the surrounding and home from the evil effects of spirits.
Every people dreamt of a house of their own. Even if it is a small one they want their own house and want to decorate it in their way. So they considered it as a precious belonging and want to protect it from every aspect. Most Hindu people are very ritualistic in nature. They often think that own a house can become a reason for people’s jealousy which can consider as a bad for the overall peace of the house.
To perform a Grah Pravesh Puja, it requires several items and it is saying that each of them has a special significance not only in religion but also on the environment and the human body as well. The pandit who performs this puja conducts a yagna to purify the surrounding. Even a coconut is broken at the beginning of the puja and the holy water is sprinkled all around the house. Things like Conch shells are blown up and camphor lamps are lit during the pujas of the grah pravesh. There is a belief that all these things have a purifying effect on the air water and environment of the house as well as to the people of the house.
Sometimes the people do not have the idea of what things exactly needed during this puja. here the pandit plays a huge role and carries all the necessary ingredients with them to conduct the puja. However, it does not mean that because of carrying those ingredients they will charges high. They conduct the puja at an affordable price.
